I don’t think it’s fair to call Gwen a side character or say her character was bad, she was introduced in 1965 and died in 1973, still very much in the Bronze age of comics. Since then we’ve had so many great comics that others can learn from. Gwen Stacy is a symbol more than a character, it’s not fair to say she wasn’t developed because comic books at the time were very different to today.
Context is hugely important with comic books, especially ones written in the bronze age.

Exactly! That is why I loved the movie adaption of her better than the comics! I feel like she was more mature instead of the overprotective, doting girlfriend who was a side character.

Louis Lane goes at my first. Just curious though, does Talia and Bruce count as a hero and civillian? She isnt a hero nor villian but shes still apart of a secret league of ninjas. And in the Nolan films of Batman the death of Rachel Dawes had a huge impact on Bruce and id put that on my top 5. It would go as my one spot if she stuck around a little longer.

Knowing few of the characters, I probably have no saying in this. BUT! I think you should’ve added one of the Flash’s wives in there. More or so Iris West-Allen or Linda Park. They’re stubborn as hell and won’t take crap from anybody, and that alone should put them in the top 10 list.
Though I gotta admit, Gwen and Harley are in my top 10 as well. But in different orders.
